The Resonant Dissonance

A thin veneer of fabricated fantasy stretches across the landscape, as far as the eye can see. Underneath the piercing glow of the neon lights is a rugged and ugly truth that has yet to be addressed. This world is fallen from grace...falling apart. It is rotting. Yet, everyday the people continue about their lives in an augmented reality, specially curated to placate those who have predisposed themselves not to see beneath the surface.

But those who can see through the dim holograms must wrestle with a duality of a world with two natures. On one hand, everything is a polished and perfect lie. On the other, The ugly Truth.

We do things that we hate, and neglect piety.
We teach that which we do not believe.
We allow injustices to go unchallenged.
We cut out our own tongues.
We all know it. We are aware.

Who can save the souls of The Men who have doomed themselves? Who can free the prisoners who build their own cages? Who will warn this city that silences its own prophets? Who can find peace?

This is the nagging reality of imperfect pilgrims, and a longing to be home.
